PAY RANGE: $54,000 - $112,164 Annual Salary
CALENDAR: 190 Days*

REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Integrated Services or Designee

SUMMARY:
The role of a Culture Coordinator is to lead inclusive practices and inclusive culture within the school setting. The Culture Coordinator will provide support and coaching to staff specific to inclusive practices while referencing diversity and culturally responsive practices. The Culture Coordinator will cascade learning throughout the system in order to foster a positive culture and climate within schools. It will be the role of the Culture Coordinator to provide district-level support to schools’ Culture Coaches who will be located within schools with middle-level students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or Related Field
  • Holds or is eligible for Colorado Department of Education license in education, special education, or special services
  • At least 5 years of experience working in educational settings
  • Experience with coaching and mentoring colleagues and other professionals
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to the following:
  • Values student diversity and support the unique learning needs of each individual student
  • Supporting staff in the implementation of inclusive practices by reviewing, advising, and collaborating about: the learning environment, daily routines, activities, and positive social interactions which contribute to positive culture, climate, and engagement
  • Provide opportunities for shared learning experiences through observations, data collection, and feedback
  • Model evidence-based practice and coach other how to utilize a variety of strategies to increase engagement and minimize disruptions and distractions
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development to ensure adherence to evidence-based and research-based practices in relation to trauma-informed practices, human growth and development, bullying prevention, and restorative practices
  • Advocating on behalf of students and engaging in regular consultation with students to allow their ideas, feelings and thoughts to contribute to a positive school culture and climate
  • Show courtesy, concern, and an understanding of individual problems and dealing with others
  • Provide training, modeling, and coaching to schools’ Culture Coaches to:
    • support classroom management strategies
    • design and implement management systems that are feasible, age-appropriate, and consistent among school teams
    • integrate behavioral and social emotional learning practices into their instruction
    • reduce students’ reliance on the adult(s) in the classroom and increase their independence through strategic structures and supports
  • Experience and expertise of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning
  • Offer insight on positive behavior support strategies
  • Plan and deliver professional development and training for Culture Coaches and school-based teams
  • Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to related well with all school stakeholders
  • Collaborate with school and district leadership around district-wide initiatives
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and community
  • Follows State legal requirements and District and building policies and procedures
  • Provide training and coaching specific to Behavior Intervention Plans, data collection, and data analysis of individual students, classrooms, or schools
  • Design and support implementation of behavioral programming for specific students
  • Support others in their evaluation of program effectiveness and staff development
  • Knowledgeable about resources and avenues for students experiencing social/emotional/behavioral responses for the purpose of reducing stress and encouraging positive expressions; create a resource library
  • Support Culture Coaches in their ability to offer extra-curricular activities that are age-appropriate, meaningful, and of interest to middle level students
  • Exhibits a growth mindset through participation in high quality professional learning; recognize that relationships are key in supporting growth and change
  • Flexibility to adjust workday hours based on activities and events scheduled for middle level students
  • Ability to work beyond designated working hours for additional compensation as specified in the Agreement
