Maples Industries, Inc. is Hiring a Serge Operator (Edge Finish) Near Scottsboro, AL

Operates machine that sews edge of rugs by performing the essential functions of the job safely and efficiently.

Essential Functions:

Pulls, straightens, and positions rug to machine.
Depresses pedal with foot to activate sewing process.
Guides rug with right hand and fingers as rug is sewn.
Uses left hand to help position rug and push rug away when completed.
Checks to ensure machine is sewing properly.
Pull tails to lock them in to prevent ravel backs.
Uses scissors to clip excess corners.
Threads needles and loopers.
Changes spools of yarn as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience:

No prior experience or training is required.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel with hands and arms, twist, turn, or rotate body, use feet and legs to depress pedals. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
