Job Summary:

We are seeking a forward-thinking and highly motivated candidate to take the lead in a fast-paced environment to coordinate our 11 locations logistical needs in supporting our grain, fertilizer, and construction departments. This position is responsible for ensuring that the company and contract drivers are dispatched to pick up agriculture shipments in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, have the ability to multitask, accurately recall information, carefully plan, problem solve, and adapt to changes. Shift schedule for this position is normally 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but will require weekend hours during heavy shipping times, such as in the fall harvest season.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

• Primary liaison between all departments for transportation needs
• Dispatch/Coordinate & assign loads and load information with drivers across all company locations
• Establishes quality transportation services to meet customers' needs, utilizing in-house truck fleet, or outside brokers as appropriate.
• Create a consistent and fair approach for dispatching loads to drivers
• Coordinate and manage the proposal process for ad hoc deliveries
• Seek out and establish efficiencies for processes within the department
• Proactively identify problems and implement effective solutions
• Ensure DOT compliance
• Executes established operational processes and procedures to achieve outstanding results
• Participate in department or company-wide projects in support of the company goals and objectives

Safety

• Lead by example and promote a positive safety culture
• Ensure that all work practices are completed in a safe manner and promote safety among customers and employees
• Meet compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety training policies
• Enforce safety policies

Miscellaneous

• Participate in weekly group staff meetings
• Act in a manner that helps promote a positive image for Maplehurst Farms and contributes to great customer service
• Perform other needed functions as requested by management

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

• Experienced in understanding DOT regulations
• Working knowledge of trucking equipment
• Knowledge of planning and optimizing dispatching processes
• Experienced in working with Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and multi-task
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing
• Ability to identify problems and recommend solutions
