Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our team. As an MDS Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for our Residents. This position requires strong knowledge of nursing home procedures and health information management.
Responsibilities:
-Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical records to gather necessary information for MDS completion
- Coordinate all clinical MDS assessments for all residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate documentation of patient conditions and treatments
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Utilize knowledge of Medicare guidelines to accurately assign appropriate DRG codes
- Coordinate with the billing department to ensure proper reimbursement for services rendered
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans for patients
- Monitor and track patient progress, making adjustments to care plans as needed
- Serve as a member of the nursing leadership including participating in on call an other management responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Familiarity with Pont Click Care or similar electronic health record systems
- Experience in medical records review and documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Strong understanding of Medicare guidelines and regulations
- Ability to analyze complex medical information and make accurate assessments
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $33.00 - $38.50 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
