Manor Independent School District is Hiring a Child Development Center Coordinator Near Manor, TX

Primary Purpose:

Assist in directing, coordinating, budgeting and managing the daily successful operation of the Employee Childcare which includes supervising employees at the Manor ISD CDC and being the Director of the CDC on licensings official record following the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) and school district guidelines.


Qualifications

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in Child Development or Early Childhood or related field.
  • Must be able to be certified as a director of a licensed childcare center by Texas Health and Human Services upon hire.
  • Preferred: Masters in Early Childhood Education

Experience:

  • Three to five successful years’ experience managing a licensed childcare facility as a Director, Assistant Director or related position.
  • Preferred: Experience implementing the Texas Rising Star 4 star rating program
  • Preferred: Experience managing a NAEYC accredited child care center


Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of childcare operations and developmentally appropriate practices
  • Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures and coordinate center functions.
  • Knowledge and implementation of Texas Child Care guidelines and state licensing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proven success implementing programs for children based on developmentally appropriate practices.
  • Accepts and respects differences in children, parents, and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of budget development and implementations
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Maintain high quality child care standards based on developmentally appropriate practices that follow Texas State Licensing, TRS and NAEYC programing needs.
  • Supervise, monitors, trains and evaluates the performance of all staff members of the childcare center, including substitute staff.
  • Supervise hiring process and orientation for all new staff in a timely manner.
  • Supervises the program's operations to include; the purchases, inventory, storage and maintenance of the child care supplies and equipment.
  • Plan, Coordinate, direct, evaluate and implement assigned age-appropriate program activities and experiences for infants, toddlers, and preschool age children.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe environment following licensing, TRS and NAEYC guidelines.
  • Participate in various meetings like: TXAEYC Director networking, staff development, staff meetings.
  • Dependable performance requires reliable and dependable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Director of Early Childhood or the District.
  • Ensure measures are in place and operating to protect students, staff, supplies, and equipment.
  • Maintain safety standards conforming with federal, state, and insurance regulations and develop a program of preventive safety.
  • Implement and follow district safety protocols and emergency protocols.
  • Develop training options and improvement plans to ensure exemplary operations.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervises, hires, evaluates all child care staff including substitute teachers.
