The Systems Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks. The Systems Administrator will be responsible for designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting computer systems operated and maintained by MPU.

The Systems Administrator will design and oversee physical, virtual, and virtual desktop servers. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software and hardware. The Systems Administrator will maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, Internet Information Server, and email including O365.

Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supports LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems; 
• Maintains network and system security; 
• Troubleshoots server and network problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues;
• Evaluates and modifies system’s performance;
• Assigns configuration of authentication and authorizations of directory services;
• Administers servers, printers, phones, software deployment, security updates and patches;
• Administers data storage and backup devices and software;

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Sciences or Engineering. An equivalent degree and experience will be taken into consideration.
• Experience with VMware including Horizon, VCenter and vSAN;
• Experience with SAN and NAS management;
• Experience with Microsoft Operating Systems, and Microsoft Exchange Server;

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Project management skills are a plus;
• Effective working as a member of a team;
• Organizational insight and decision-making skills;
• Ability to learn new technologies and techniques of the industry;
• Strong knowledge of network management and analysis tools.
