Special Education Assistant (1:1 PCA) - Full-time-10 month (school term) 7:30AM-2:30PM M-F

Qualifications:
HS Diploma/GED Required; Educational child care experience preferred; technology/computer skills; strong organizational and time management skills.
Additional Information:
This position is responsible for providing instructional, behavioral, and personal care support to a student (1:1) in the Special Education classroom.
Candidates must have a high degree of patience, ability to effectively use verbal skills to communicate with teachers, students, supervisors and parents, ability to take initiative and creatively solve problems, and posses the ability to be flexible and adapt to various and challenging environments.
Essential Functions:
Assist the student with a variety of tasks that would facilitate full assess to educational programs, attend to personal care needs of assigned student which may include toileting, feeding, and changing, collect data on student progress assigned by teacher, and guide safe transitions from activities to movement in hallways.
