Manhattan Construction is Hiring a Senior Estimator Near Oklahoma, OK

Senior Estimator

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Estimator is responsible for providing estimating services for procuring work through the leadership of the Chief Estimator. Products delivered include budgets, estimates, schedules, subcontracts, and pre-construction services. The Senior Estimator must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setup and assemble work teams, make assignments, and solicit vendors
  • Ability to utilize BIM for quantity take-offs
  • Assist in the development of bid strategies for projects
  • Create subcontractor solicitation lists and ensure coverage on all scopes of work
  • Deliver preconstruction services (constructability review, system analysis, value management, etc.)
  • Make scope assignments to other estimating team members
  • Perform select quantity take off, pricing, site visits, pre-bid meetings, and review of the bid form
  • Thoroughly review all take-off and pricing, specifically self-performed work
  • Merge estimates, review for completeness and errors
  • Review all tab sheets prior to bid date
  • Co-chair with Project Director the project scope review with team
  • Lead review of tab sheets and budget with Project Director, Operations Manager and Chief Estimator
  • Bid level the subcontractor results for complete scope/price
  • Assist Project Director in negotiating subcontracts and purchasing of all major aspects of the project
  • Develop the job cost budget and co-chair the turnover or transition meetings
  • Develop owner deliverables; estimate summary, estimate detail, clarifications, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

JOB SKILLS & ABILITIES GUIDELINES:

  • Knowledge and efficiency in Manhattan software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong math/accounting skills
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines
  • Functions effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow directions
  • Time management skills and organizational skills
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Ability to accurately obtain quantities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
  • 5 years of industry experience
