Manchester Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is Hiring a Director of Rehabilitation, DOR Near Manchester, TN

Director of Rehabilitation (DOR)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Develops and maintains systems that build and enhance the facility’s reputation for being the unparalleled rehab provider to the elderly and demonstrate the facility’s approach to interdisciplinary care.

This includes but is not limited to oversight of the following departmental operations:

  • Compliance with the facility’s policies, procedures, clinical standards, and protocols.
  • Compliance with documentation guidelines and regulatory requirements, including completion of monthly documentation audits.
  • Conduct in-services as required.
  • Communicate regularly with the administrator and regional support, determine the need for visits and assistance, and schedule time with the backing for maximum effectiveness.
  • Timely evaluation and treatment of patients most efficiently and effectively possible.
  • Participate in nursing to meet OBRA requirements.
  • Manage computerized systems to optimize data quality and maximize therapist efficiency.
  • Managing Medicare Medical Review and Denials Management process

2. Monitors financial performance of rehab department and effectively seeks methods to improve this performance while ensuring that the facility’s and CareRite Centers standards are consistently observed.

This includes but is not limited to oversight of the following departmental operations:

  • Appropriate and effective utilization of staff.
  • Manage vital operations and financial levers to achieve budget projections, including developing and implementing action plans as necessary.
  • Complete mid-month and end-of-month billing timely and accurately.

3. Contributes effectively to the census development/marketing efforts in coordination with the facility.

This includes but is not limited to oversight of the following departmental operations:

  • Achieve the facility census and payer mix by coordinating marketing efforts with the facility.
  • Effectively manage critical relationships with hospital therapists, physicians, key hospital staff, managed care providers, rehab suppliers, and other key referral sources.

4. Contributes to the professional development of self and the facility’s rehabilitation/therapy staff.

This includes but is not limited to oversight of the following departmental operations:

  • Maintaining current professional status and license.
  • Adhering to a professional standard of conduct and clinical code of ethics and practice.
  • Developing and implementing in-service orientation schedules.
  • Maintain a current body of knowledge in areas of clinical expertise through seminars, professional journals, and peers.
  • Meeting continuing education requirements of regulatory agencies.

5. Provides patient care as appropriate and necessary, following the position description for the applicable clinical discipline in which licensure or certification is held.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the rehab community.
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills.
  • Skills applicable to clinical discipline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with all Rehabilitation staff members and facility staff.

2. Education and Experience:

  • Graduation from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required
  • Mandatory One Year Experience As DOR
