The Risk and Insurance Manager will oversee the organization’s comprehensive insurance program assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, security, or financial success of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Additional or other duties may be assigned.

Insurance

Evaluate insurance needs and establish and maintain relationships with insurance providers.

Identify new insurable risks and make recommendations for effective management of the risks.

Review all applications, policies, endorsements, and audits for accuracy.

Addresses coverage disputes and inquiries from insurance carriers to determine company liability when potential claims arise.

Work independently to resolve issues by providing feedback to management and business partners on opportunities for process enhancements.

Conduct risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends and share with leadership.

Data entry, calculation of rates and premiums; and processing renewals, when necessary.

Reconcile insurance audit.

Review monthly insurance billings.

Update insurance values in ViewPoint.

Work with company’s insurance agencies on renewals, adding an insured, claims, etc.

Attend continued education as required.

Claims

Manage the liability claims notification process to insurers so that the insurers have sufficient information to investigate claims.

Assists in analyzing claim trends and other data as requested by company management.

Ensure OSHA logs are accurate and posted per regulations and electronic filing deadlines are met.

Oversees the preparation of disability and return-to-work documents.

Prepares medical/legal reports and corresponds with attorneys, insurers, and other stakeholders as needed.

Review all insurance claims for errors before sending them to responsible parties.

Handle all special claims.

Complete loss/claim analysis and summaries

Provide support and guidance to claims staff and others.

Surety Bonds

Prepare surety documents such as Bid Bonds, Performance, Payment, and Maintenance Bonds as needed.

Helps keep track of Surety customers bonds and billings as needed.

IDOT Monthly bonds emails and tracking.

Attends continued education to keep Surety license up to date.

Data entry, calculation of rates and premiums and processing renewals when necessary.

Yearly end of year reports for all companies.
