A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACCOUNTING CLERK

As an Accounting Clerk, you have the important role of processing and controlling expenses, payments, and reconciling. You will also pay vendors, petty cash, and employee expenses. The position performs payroll tasks that include batching, reviewing, and processing multi branch payroll check every week. You will also maintain up to date payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, direct deposit, and job title department/division transfers. Lastly, you will have weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll tax reports to process. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to critically analyze data for discrepancies.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTING CLERK

  • High school diploma OR equivalent
  • Associates degree in accounting preferred
  • 5 years accounting experience with payroll and accounts payable
  • Quickbooks experience preferred
