Malama Pono Health Services is seeking an experienced candidate to fill the role of President/CEO. Malama Pono Health Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit health center in Lihue, HI. This position is held under the general supervision of the board of directors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Ability to train and supervise agency staff.
· Ability to work well with people in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner.
· Experience with grant applications and/or grant management.
· Education and/or experience in the medical field, medical clinic, social services.
· Ability to communicate clearly and appropriately both orally and in writing.
· Ability and willingness to support and adhere to MPHS’ program philosophy.
· Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· Previous experience in a non-profit environment.
· Experience in budgeting and cash management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develop and implement operational procedures for the day-to-day requirements of the administration of all agency programs.
· Identify personnel needs, hire and supervise staff, document personnel actions.
· Ensure funding for client service programs, medical programs and social services programs.
· Ensure confidentiality of all client-level data.
· Develop and administer a reporting system that documents all fiscal and programmatic activities to funding sources and the Board of Directors.
· Develop and oversee annual agency budget. Provide first-line supervision of all agency spending, and develop programs to promote and maintain fiscal and programmatic accountability.
· Ensure compliance with scope of services specified in all grants and contracts.
· Research grants and funding sources and applies for available funding appropriate to the mission, goals, and financial status of MPHS.
· Participate in the ongoing development and evaluation of program activities.
· Formally represent MPHS to government agencies, health and human services agencies, community organizations, and the general public, and attend relevant or significant meetings.
· Facilitate the development of relationships with relevant community resources in order to build capacity in the community and develop new services.
· Participate in legislative liaison activities and provide testimony when necessary.
· Work with the Board of Directors, Fundraising Committee, and Staff on fund raising projects.
