Malama I Ke Ola Health Center is Hiring a Receptionist-Full Time Wailuku and Lahaina Near Wailuku, HI

Community Clinic of Maui, Inc. dba Malama I Ke Ola Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and a fully integrated behavioral health, dental, and primary care system. Our 100 professionals and providers serve the people of Maui at three clinics—two locations in Wailuku and one in Lahaina. We have behavioral health providers who partner with the primary care clinicians to assist in a vast number of activities including warm handoffs for acute behavioral health crisis management, substance abuse counseling, tobacco cessation counseling, chronic disease self management counseling, and long-term individual and family therapy. We have been serving the Maui community since 1993. Since 2015, we have served over 11,000 patients of which 97% are living at or below 200% of the Federal poverty level. This position is a full-time (40 hours/week) position primarily answering the telephones, registering all new patients, and checking in/out patients, on a timely basis. Our receptionist is the first contact with all patients entering and exiting the organization for health care and acts as liaison between all CCM personnel and patients. Assumes responsibility for information related to patient registration. Main responsibility is to see that the needs of a patient are met quickly and with patient satisfaction. The selected candidate is eligible for any future regular, full-time position. We offer day, evening, and half-day on Saturday hours of work with competitive pay.
  • Receptionist Essential Functions:
  • Answers and places telephone calls in a professional manner at all times, ensuring that the privacy of all patient and client medical information is in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinic policies and procedures.
  • Greets patients at the reception desk, and responsible for helping to make patients feel comfortable while in the clinic
  • Obtains essential patient information for registration and assists patients and families with necessary registration forms and insurance applications.
  • Reviews clinic registration forms for completeness and performs follow up of any necessary corrections.
  • Responsible for creating new accounts and reviewing established accounts for updated information in Electronic Records Management system.
  • Scans all documents received from patients into document management storage and imports to patients file/account.
  • Makes reminder calls to patients for following day's appointment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Billing Essential Functions:
  • Rotation through the billing department to learn and support the relationship between front desk and billing to enhance skillset, including
  • activities related to billing, third party and patient follow up, and customer service to ensure optimal billing and follow up standards are maintained.
  • Completes billing task assignments on a weekly basis.
Required education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred experience:
  • Minimum one year experience as a dental/front office/back office in a medical setting.
  • Must have a valid driver license and access to an insured vehicle
  • Must have a TB clearance within the past 12 months for skin/blood test or X-Ray within past 5 years.
  • Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination as required by federal mandate:
The ideal candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent, basic math skills, computer literate, valid drivers license and reliable transportation, and ability to relate to clients in a diverse population from diverging socio-economic background.We offer awesome benefits and generous paid time off.
