REPORTS TO: Program Coordinator - KITS

PURPOSE:

The KITS Childcare Associate provides childcare during KITS Club at IE Loves Yoga or other locations as required by the Program Coordinator. Parents are on-site during sessions.

This position is part-time. The schedule, as it currently exists, is Wednesday and Thursdays between the hours of 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

Primary Function: To provide childcare services to families with children ages 0-5 in the KITS program at IE Loves Yoga (or where approved) while parents are on-site.

• Support the Director of Programs and Development and Program Coordinator in the following:Provide childcare services to children ages 0-5 whose parents are participating in the KITS Program
• Provide a loving, safe, and supportive environment for children
• Plan and execute lessons designed to engage and enrich very young children
• Organize fun activities for children ages 0-5
• Responsible for set up and clean up at each session
• Track supplies for childcare, including toys, books, etc and inform the Program Coordinator when items need to be replenished
• Track snacks for childcare and inform the Program Coordinator when items need to be replenished
• If you wish to get intern credit, we can work with your college or university to facilitate that process

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Commitment to the mission of the Making Hope Happen Foundation, its program, and the families it serves.
• Ability to work with people of all ages and cultural backgrounds.
• High school diploma plus some college units in child development, early childhood education, psychology and/or related fields. Equivalent work experience will be considered
• Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communications skills; enjoy working with the public.
• Be organized and action-oriented; a self-starter.
• Ability to pass Live Scan background check
• Clean driving record with proof of insurance
• Reliable transportation

PREFERRED:

• Graduate of San Bernardino City Unified School District
• Bilingual / bi-literate in English / Spanish; able to provide informal translation/interpretation

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• No nights
• No weekends

Experience:

• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

• San Bernardino, CA 92401: Relocate before starting work (Required)
