Public Health Program Manager (Non-Profit)

The Organization: The Make Well Known Foundation is a non-profit organization working to eliminate health disparities among Black, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander and Native American populations.

We collaborate with a range of non-profit, academic, government and commercial institutions to activate solution-oriented initiatives that reach into at-risk communities and empower people to cultivate better health. We support the professional organizations who in turn have direct contact with community residents.

The MWKF has been selected as a partner for the White House Challenge to End Hunger & Build Health Communities. Our commitment is to reach over 6,000 individuals in 7 cities through our Community Health Builders program.

The Position:
We are seeking a Program Manager who has 5-10 years of work experience. As a member of a small team, the Program Manager must be a self-starter and will take the lead on our Community Health Builders program.

The Community Health Builders program supports underserved communities around the country to empower ongoing initiatives and provide connections to regional and national resources. The Program Manager should feel comfortable working with community health needs assessments, asset mapping, and traveling to sites to host community meetings with local leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will focus on supporting project and operational activities as outlined below:

  • Serve as the lead for MWKF’s Community Health Builders program
  • Engage and maintain relationships with community partners
  • Independently develop project work plans and project timelines
  • Manage project schedules and ensure adherence to established timelines Assist with developing budgets and cost estimates for program initiatives
  • Produce progress and final reports
  • Conduct background research on specific health conditions and inequities
  • Work as part of a small team to provide operational and executional support on a range of projectsMinimum Requirements:
  • 5-10 years of project management on community-based projects
  • Experience supporting work in underserved communities
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MPH or other relevant master’s degree preferred
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship
  • Hybrid schedule with some workdays on site in Princeton, NJ is preferred

Additional Experience/Position Requirements

  • Interest in the healthcare industry
  • Must be proactive and self-directed
  • Must provide strong attention to detail
  • Ability to travel – up to 30% Additional Skills/Attributes
  • Strong verbal and written communication, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated research/analytical skills
  • Comfort with data analysis preferred
  • Able to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize assignments
  • Able to operate in both a team environment and autonomously
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Well-organized and goal-oriented
  • Experience maintaining an organizational social media presence preferred
  • Strong PowerPoint, Excel, and Word skills a plus

Compensation:
A competitive salary and health insurance stipend will be provided

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
