Mainstay Life Services is Hiring a Quality Analyst Near Pittsburgh, PA

DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Analyst will provide project support for change and performance improvement initiatives across Mainstay. The primary responsibilities of this position will be: assimilating knowledge of and using Mainstay’s quality and health data IT systems and platforms, assimilating knowledge of quality and health metrics, and collecting, recording, tracking, and communicating data-driven quality and performance measurements to stakeholders. The Quality Analyst will also create data reports and data visualization, perform various quality audits using random sampling techniques, assist in the development of essential organizational documents such as SOPs and workplans, learn the electronic health record (Therap), the Heath Risk Screening Tool (HRST) system, and the Business Intelligence (BI) system. They will also assist the Director of Quality and Performance Improvement in process improvement, among other responsibilities related to quality and performance improvement. The Quality Analyst serves as a member of the Quality & Performance Improvement team providing support to serve the mission of Mainstay; to provide life-long, high-quality support services, ensuring that people with intellectual disabilities and autism lead fulfilling lives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Data Tracking, Reporting & Trend Analysis

  • Creating data reports and data visualizations that provide internal stakeholders with visibility into Mainstay’s health outcomes and progress toward overall quality goals.
  • Maintaining spreadsheets related to the Quality Improvement Plan and other initiatives.
  • Collecting and analyzing data on a regular basis for regular reporting (Medication errors, MAR data, data on severe falls, etc.).
  • Performing ad hoc reporting, tracking, and measurements.

Learning Databases and Electronic Health Record

  • The Quality Analyst needs to understand or be able to learn our Business Intelligence system, electronic health record, and the HRST database.

Performing Quality Audits

  • Selecting random samples and performing qualitative analysis to ensure compliance and overall quality for various quality metrics.
  • Communicating / documenting for stakeholders variances or concerns observed with audits.

Policy / Proposal Writing

  • Assisting in drafting procedure documents, proposals, and project workplans.

Team & Project Support

  • Assisting with long-term quality and performance improvement projects relating to Pay for Performance, process improvements, and Mainstay’s quality improvement plan. This involves creating work plans, monitoring progress against goals, data tracking and creating visualizations relating to the project.
  • Attending project meetings, communicating updates and changes with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in the development of documents relating to the project.
  • Assisting in the automation of paper processes
  • Assisting in the rollout of new organizational implementations.
  • Preparing for licensing inspection and other Quality-Related events.
  • Developing job aides to support staff in using systems and improving processes.


Training staff on procedures and databases relating to the Health Risk Screening Tool

  • Creating job aids and providing support to program managers in implementing service considerations from the HRST.
  • Supporting the organizations’ RNs in matters relating to the HRST.

Quality & Performance Improvement Support

  • Participating and supporting continuous quality improvement activities and projects as needed.
  • Supporting the maintenance and distribution of policies, procedures, and workflows as needed; maintaining the compliance, risk, and quality intranet sites for sharing information.

MICELLANEOUS:

  • Responsible for completion of other duties as assigned.

CORE COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong abilities in Microsoft Excel: should be able to create pivot tables, quantitative functions, and various data visualizations.
  • Understanding of data collection methodologies.
  • Ability to serve as a team member on long-term projects.
  • Ability to take instruction, work in a team, and in an individual capacity.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present data and other information to groups of people.
  • Exhibits a drive for results and is capable of handling with ambiguity.

  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities.


HOURS:

  • 37.5 hours per week. Schedule encompasses varying days and hours including periodic observation of all shifts. On-call as needed.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Vision Acuity for the Position: Vision is Essential Vision is Non-Essential
  • Environmental Conditions: 90% Inside – 10% Outside
  • Workers may be Exposed to: Cold Heat Dust Mist Odors
  • Physical Requirements for the Position: ability to lift 20 to 30 pounds regularly, ability to respond quickly to sounds, ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, ability to see and respond to dangerous situations, ability to work in extreme weather, ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university and relevant professional experience.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with 6400 regulations.
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience working in a human services field.
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience with data tracking, analysis, and visualization.
  • At least 1 year of full-time experience with project coordination / management.
