Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Controller to plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. This position will be instrumental in helping to keep all the financial data organized and secure the company’s revenue. This individual will be friendly and team-oriented while embracing our culture of ‘Hungry, Humble and Smart’.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
• Sets clear expectations of team, provides guidance and feedback, addresses performance issues, establishes goals for professional development.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
• Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.
• Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
• Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.
• Produces monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
• Assists in preparation of quarterly presentations to the Board of Directors.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. 

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel in particular).
• Proficient in the creation of robust Excel models used for financial planning and forecasting.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.
• Five years or more of related experience required; direct experience as a Controller.
• Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation desirable.
