Summary

  • Position Summary
    • Position consists of 30% regional responsibilities and 70% local health system CFO responsibilities. Leads the region’s short-term and long-term financial planning efforts. Manages relationships with local health systems, MaineHealth, and other internal and external users of financial and non-financial information.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Master's in Business Administration or Accounting preferred, however, Bachelor's in Accounting or Business Degree from accredited four year college or university accepted. Five to 10 years related experience and/or training required. Relevant experience can substitute for educational credentials.
    • Currently licensed Certified Public Accountant preferred.
    • Fellow of the Health Care Financial Management Association (FHFMA) preferred.
    • Affiliation with Health Care Financial Management Association required.
    • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of trustees.
    • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to work in a matrix environment.
    • Regular onsite presence within the region required.
