Job Description: The Role: Registered Nurse (RN) Surgical Specialty - Vascular Surgery The Vascular Surgery Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and administrative assistance in the setting of a physician practice/medical office in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Position Highlights: Perfect for a nurse with a passion for vascular access: placing and maintaining a variety of lines as well as participating in infection prevention measures, with a focus on safety & quality outcomes. The Opportunity: MaineGeneral Health is currently seeking an exceptional Vascular Surgery Registered Nurse to join our team. The Work: Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Active Maine RN licensure or ability to obtain same in a timely fashion, required Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred At least 2 years of RN Acute Care experience is preferred VA-BC (Vascular Access Board Certified) certification is preferred Excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills Proven and demonstrated autonomous critical thinking skills Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0 Work Shift: Job Exempt: No Benefits: Supporting all aspects of our employees’ wellness – physical, emotional and financial – is a critical component of being a great place to work.
