Job Summary:Provides primary or acute healthcare services for certain acute or chronic health conditions in specific populations in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.Job Description:MaineGeneral Medical Center's Inpatient Rehabilitation team is seeking an experienced, full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their dynamic, patient-focused team at that Alfond Center for Health at MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta, Maine.In this fast-paced, inpatient setting, responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Helping patients achieve their optimal level of physical, mental and psychosocial well-being while providing a safe and secure environment.Daily coordination of care with the rehabilitation Physician and multidisciplinary team including physical, speech and occupational therapy teams.Completion of admission orders in collaboration with the rehabilitation Physician.Completing history and physical examinations.Daily patient visitsPatient education (ex. diabetes management)Providing detailed and accurate information at the night/weekend hand-off to the hospitalist coverage.Completion of discharge documentation.Qualities of candidate:Prior experience in a hospital rehabilitation or skilled rehabilitation setting, preferred.Must be a team playerDedication to providing quality, patient-centered careRespectful and compassionate bedside mannerStrong communication skills to be able to talk with patients, families and other members of the care team.Willingness to learn and participate in continued education including keeping current on regulatory requirements and requirements for documentation.This position has a flexible, Monday - Friday schedule with a manageable weekend call rotation.In addition to joining this incredible team and the offerings of traditional employment benefits, enjoy the following: Generous Earned Time Off: At MaineGeneral, we recognize the importance of time for rest and rejuvenation.
