Maine Real Estate Management (MREM) of Bangor, ME is looking to hire a full-time Accounting and HR Specialist to assist in meeting the demanding accounting and financial reporting requirements for our rapidly expanding local property management company. ABOUT MAINE REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT (MREM)

Founded in 2004, we offer full-service property management. Our customized property management services meet the specific needs of each client, including financial reporting, rent collections, cost savings plans, and leasing services. Our client roster includes condo associations, apartment complexes, offices, retail buildings, mobile home communities and single-family homes. As a small locally owned business, we aren't just coworkers - we are family.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment who is reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines. Responsibilities include producing periodic financial reports, maintaining impeccable systems for accounting records and interacting with clients regularly. HR responsibilities include posting job openings, screening applicants, conducting phone interviews, onboarding/offboarding employees, managing employee files and employee communication. Candidates must be organized, disciplined, possess the ability to communicate, handle confidential information daily, and driven to work well with others.

SKILLS

  • Degree in accounting or finance or at least 5 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper
  • Experience working with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledgers, payroll, and payroll reports
  • Extensive experience with data entry and recordkeeping
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Proficiency with business and income tax worksheets and computations
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software, Microsoft Office, and Excel
  • Ability to learn new property management software quickly
