About The Opportunity

Compensation: competitive salary plus bonus structure, ESOP contributions, 401(k) match

Location: Auburn, NH

We are searching for an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our management team. In this role you will have direct responsibility for the procurement of company equipment and supplies for all regions. This position also oversees both long term strategic purchasing responsibilities, in addition to short term tactical buying activities. Includes team-based processes for business improvement with allocation, tracking and reconciliation, as well as capital expenditures.

Estimated levels of Purchasing engagement as follows:

  • Accessories and fuel - $5.5M
  • Capex and other initiatives - $4.5M
  • Equipment / vehicles repairs & supplies - $3.5M
  • General supplies - $1.0M

What you will be doing:

  • Sets goals, establishes priorities, and manages resources, reviews projects progress and results; makes management decisions.
  • Responsible for the collection, analysis and adjustments of daily cycle counts; weekly and monthly inventories
  • Investigates and reports the reason/cause for discrepancies. Initiates appropriate corrective action to eliminate future occurrence.
  • Reduce material ordering costs while increasing inventory accuracy. Responsible for maintaining appropriate min/max levels of key product using the material planning reports.
  • Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.

In order to be successful in this role, here’s what we will need from you:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, geographically diverse Company, while developing professional relationships with Senior Leadership, Divisional Managers and their teams, as well as other Departmental Mangers and supporting staff.
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills along with strong, relevant, sourcing experience in construction. Heavy civil knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to leverage technology to both facilitate and improve purchasing processes. Strong MS Office skills with particular focus on ERP and Excel;
  • Deep understanding of inventory control and purchasing best practices.

About You

You are an experienced purchasing professional with 5 years’ experience in the construction industry. You may have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Supply Chain Management. In addition to being organized, motivated, and task oriented, you are dependable and highly accountable.
