Mechanical/Product development engineering position to help drive product development from concept to production. This position is based in Amherst NH. However, there will be some infrequent travel to the Milford, NH plant for prototype and field tests.
Essential Job Functions
  • Help Engineering with mechanical and electrical testing to ensure newly developed products meet requirements.
  • Must be able to work with vendors to design tools and prototypes to test new ideas.
  • Work with team to execute test procedures per new product design standards.
  • Help creating required documents (product data sheets, work instructions etc...) for new product launch and keep existing documents up to date.
  • Create and maintain material procurement standards and product drawings.
  • Ability to assemble components, test apparatus and perform mechanical tests.
  • Write test reports and data logging of all the testing performed for future use and analysis.
  • Ability to operate high voltage equipment and high voltage lab for testing.
  • Manage the Engineering Change Request system.
  • Can communicate effectively with internal customers.
  • Must be able to work independently and/or as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Occasional travel to a different testing facility
  • Must be a team player. Able and willing to help the team achieve its goals.
Education, Experience And Knowledge Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Required.
  • Must have experience in design fixtures, and manufacturing tools for mechanical tests.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks/ANSYS or similar CADD software is desired.
  • Knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA) is preferred.
  • Experience in designing and fabricating prototype fixtures is desirable.
  • Able to design and perform tests per ANSI and UL standards are preferred.
  • Understanding various manufacturing processes such as extrusion, injection molding, casting, and forging is a plus.
Skills And Abilities Qualifications And Other Requirements
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook and Smartsheet.
  • Experience with High Voltage and mechanical testing equipment is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively express ideas both written and oral communications.
  • Training will be provided for any knowledge/skill gaps.
