SUMMARY:
Responsible for safely transporting Veterans to medical appointments at VA hospitals and clinics. May also be needed to take Veterans Organization Honor Guard to National Cemetery for funeral details.
PRIMARY TASKS
- Drive Veterans safely to and from appointments at VA Facilities, assist Veterans in and out of van
- Responsible for making sure Veterans are using services appropriately
- Transport cremains to National Cemeteries
- Affirming Veterans appointments with the Veterans Administration and ensuring Veterans arrive and depart on time
- Inspect and maintain cleanliness of all Mahoning County Veterans Service Commission Vehicles and ensure the vehicle is fueled upon return
- Report any damages, accidents, or issues with the vehicles to the Assistant Director
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing tasks from Executive Director
Direct Supervisor: Executive Director
Qualifications
- VETERAN (Honorable Discharge — active duty for other than training)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Skills in interpersonal communication
- Ohio Driver's License
- Clean driving record
- Record of current vehicle insurance
Work Hours: 7:00 Am - Return to office (guaranteed 10 hours of pay per day)
