About the Role

Magrathea is seeking a strategy-minded, generalist Director of Finance who enjoys "rolling up their sleeves" to broadly support our capitalization and financing plans to commercial scale. Our innovative talent is one of the biggest drivers in our success, and talented people don’t always fit with rigid job descriptions or day-to-day responsibilities. However, we want to be transparent about what will be expected of this role. The Director of Finance will be a key player in the scale-up and design of our revolutionary electrolytic process technology. 

Role Expectations

• Manage Magrathea’s financial information for a variety of stakeholders, including managing Magrathea’s books with external CPA support, preparing financial data for reporting to investors, and developing cashflow forecasts.
• Assist the CEO in capitalizing future growth of Magrathea including preparing financial models and participating in fundraising activities.
• Maintain and expand the scope of Magrathea’s economic models including discounted cashflow analysis for smelter projects.
• Play a key role in strategic planning, including assessing product development opportunities and determining how Magrathea can leverage government incentives such as those created by the Inflation Reduction Act.
• Collaborate with Magrathea’s CEO to maintain compliance with financial regulations and government contracts while maintaining a state of high capital efficiency across the organization for the post-ZIRP era.

Ideal Background

• BS, MS, or MBA degree with at least 3 years of experience in a finance-related role
• Creative and open-minded with the ability to rapidly learn
• Demonstrated track record of working on a team to achieve audacious goals together
• History of promoting company culture based on humility, transparency, respect, and care for the success of other team members

Compensation

• Salary range: $100-$150k annually (commensurate with experience)
