Commercial Lines Business Development Sales Manager
Magnum Insurance Agency is looking for an experienced Commercial Lines Manager to add value to our growth activities by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing marketing efforts. You will keep abreast of trends and market conditions to provide strategic advice to upper management.
An excellent commercial Director has an entrepreneurial mindset and great leadership skills. The ideal candidate will also be a creative strategist with excellent organizational abilities.
Position Summary:
Recruits new revenue by developing new clients that meet Magnums ideal client profile ensuring a steady flow of new revenue to the company. The skills of the candidate should include, but are not limited to the following:
Salary - Commissions 70k - 150K
Job Responsibilities:
  • Strong understanding of commercial property-casualty coverages
  • Hire, train, and support new Property and Casualty Agents
  • Develop and implement commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth.
  • Responsible for managing several accounts and being the face of the Agency to many clients
  • Maintaining client relationships and providing clients with excellent service and support.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within existing accounts to remain a client-account manager relationship by up-selling and cross-selling
  • Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships (new and existing)
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Provides technical guidance to staff assisting with client needs or procedural issues;
  • Is the primary contact between the carrier and our customer for underwriting issues
  • Acquires understanding of clients’ insurance objectives and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans to determine suitability
  • Reviews audits of policies, verifies accuracy and facilitate corrections as needed between client and carrier
  • Assist the agents with coverage questions and guidance with the carrier’s websites.
  • Process and follow up on request to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution
  • Assist in setting financial targets and budget development and monitoring
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • 3-5 yrs. experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance along with comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages.
  • Bilingual Spanish – English
  • Proven experience as Commercial Development Manager or other relevant role
  • Organization and analytical skills
  • Excellent communicator-both written and verbal
  • Enjoys working on a team
  • Must hold P & C insurance license or willing to obtain one within an agreed time frame.
