Summary:

A Division Manager plans, budgets, documents and oversees all aspects of assigned projects. Division Managers may work closely with management at all levels in the organization to make sure that the scope and direction of each project is on schedule and budget.

Essential Functions include but are not limited to:

  • Train, develop, and hold your team accountable to exceptional performance standards.
  • Ensuring customer service is a #1 priority.
  • Develop new business and customers for MVE.
  • Manage projects and customer accounts.
  • Bring more energy than you take, because you will set the tone every day for the entire department.
  • Review and approve estimates, invoices, timecards.
  • Communicate with office staff to operate effectively.
  • Estimate projects and jobs with MVE estimating software, training will be required.
  • Work with many vendors and subcontractors on project coordination and pricing.
  • Lead and manage division team members and keep operations running efficiently.
  • Manage team schedule to meet ongoing customer and project schedules.
  • Assist with recruitment process.
  • Analyze and control job expenses to meet budget, maintain margins on projects to be within budget.
  • Ensuring the safety of crew members.
  • Follow OSHA guidelines.
  • Productivity of crew members and quality control.
  • Employee must be able to manage a project from start to completion successfully.
  • Responsible for performing, coordinating, and/or overseeing daily project management activities during procurement, design, construction, and close-out phase.
  • Perform site inspections and document contractor progress.
  • Analyze plans, specifications, proposals and other contract documents to determine the overall project scope and project requirements.
  • Review bid requirements for projects ensuring all aspects of the project are documented and accounted for.
  • Negotiating and awarding of contracts to vendors.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination and success of the division and staff while providing a safe work environment.
  • Negotiate and write subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute detailed project schedules.
  • Identify, manage and maintain relationships with subcontractors, ensuring bids are completed on a timely manner, thoroughly, and accurately.
  • Develop, and sustain working relationships with clients through direct communication.
  • Identify and understand bidding documents on which proposal/contract are based, including plans, specs., etc.
  • Identify and/or submit required project documentation and notify other departments.
  • Monitor job progress, especially regarding scope of work, job cost (budget actual), and project documents (plans).
  • Employee must have estimating knowledge and be familiar with estimating software.
  • Have knowledge of the National Electric Code.
  • Must be able to prepare monthly AIA progress billing.
  • Must have strong knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM and its relevance in all aspects of the electrical industry.
  • Able to estimate a project using MVE estimations system with no supervision.
  • Able to effectively estimate and track change orders.
