Magic Leap - Multiple Locations is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Boulder, CO

Job Description

Magic Leap is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3 years of relevant experience to join the hardware development team working on next generation product development. In this role, you will be developing new technologies in imaging, sensing, electro/optical systems and displays. The engineer will be responsible for all aspects of product development from concept to productization including architecture and design, hardware validation, troubleshooting and issue resolution. Join our team developing next-generation technology for augmented reality devices in an Agile Hardware Environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of new technologies from concept to productization
  • Rapid prototyping and development of hardware and firmware proof of concepts
  • Troubleshooting hardware issues and implementing tests
  • Characterizing high-speed systems and display technologies.
  • Definition of system and component specifications
  • Simulation, modeling, design and test project development
  • System architecture, design, and implementation
  • Development of test plans to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards
  • Writing firmware in C/C , Python and scripting languages
  • Collaborate with other teams to resolve cross-functional issues.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of work experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with displays and display technology
  • Familiarity with image sensors / cameras
  • Knowledge of high speed interfaces is a plus (USB, PCIe, DisplayPort, etc)
  • Experience with MIPI is highly desirable
  • Display and optical experience is a plus
  • Experience working on mixed signal PCBs with high speed controlled impedance signals, power traces, analog signals, etc.
  • CAD experience (Cadence or other schematics/layout tools)
  • Simulation experience using PSPICE or similar.
  • Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Solid understanding of Digital and Analog Design.
  • Must work well with interdisciplinary groups

 Education:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related fields preferred (Computer Engineering or other).
  • MS preferred.
