THIS POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE.
The Logistics Specialist, Transportation Control Tower will be responsible for working hands on with terminals to identify and implement new offshoring opportunities, assist in continuous improvement efforts and process standardization for offshored tasks, and help create tools and dashboards to monitor performance and other applicable KPIs.

Performance Team and Damco Distribution, now part of the Maersk global organization under a combined Warehousing & Distribution division, offer third party logistics services to over 500 customers. Encompassing almost 15 million square feet of warehousing capacity throughout the country and a large transportation segment capturing a variety of services, we have key supply chain hubs in the Los Angeles and New Jersey/New York areas, and other facilities along the Western & Eastern coasts along with multiple locations in the Midwest. Delivering significant sales and profitability growth, we will drive the Inland Logistics and Services business for the combined US business units for Maersk.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with offshoring initiatives to aid in identifying eligible processes and standardizations for each terminal and work with teams to ensure execution according to project timelines
- Help design appropriate solutions and high-level data visualizations to appropriately manage the business
- Navigate data sources to convert raw data into meaningful and actionable insights
- Monitor and report on daily performance of currently offshored terminals to ensure performance is sustained and to determine any opportunities for improvement and escalate any areas of risk
- Responsible for standardizing operations processes and preparing for/implementing processes and policies, working in close partnership with internal leaders within the company
- Provide excellent communications throughout projects to ensure stakeholder comfort and satisfaction with project scope, plans and progress towards completion
- Perform analysis on key KPIs to determine when KPIs are out of acceptable tolerances, determine root causes, and to identify unfavorable trends requiring attention
- Provide regular and ad-hoc reporting
- Monitor and track project deliverables and savings
- Perform other job-related duties as required
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong analytical skills, combined with detailed practical business acumen
- Experience with drayage and port activity
- Experience managing carrier and logistics performance monitoring and reporting
- Proven ability to identify improvement opportunities and perform business and cost analysis to make recommendations
- Ability to work simultaneously on multiple, complex projects
- Ability to work independently, typically initiating own tasks without input/guidance from manager
- Must possess skillset to work in team environment
- Must possess a self-starter attitude
- Experience in quantitative applications such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Visio, and PowerPoint
- Trinium experience preferred
