The Driller Helper position is meant to assist our drillers with the performance of soil test borings with mud-rotary and auger drilling equipment, rock coring with varied sizes and methods, preparation of boring logs and collect soil samples for laboratory analysis and subsequent engineering evaluations. Class B CDL desirable. On-the-job training and room for advancement. Ability to follow specific instructions is required. Work is outdoors in all weather conditions; the work is generally physically demanding. Travel to project sites as needed. Nearly all work is in Florida; overnight stays will be required with paid per-diem.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work behind rotary and auger drill equipment while collecting soil and rock samples.
• Maintain drill rig equipment.
• Prepare field boring logs and collect soil samples - will be training.
• Field classification of soils - will be trained.
• Safety awareness.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• Able to work a flexible schedule with out-of-town and nightwork.
• Able to read and write.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• CDL license is a plus.
• Mechanical skills.
• Not scared to work hard and follow instructions.
• Not scared to get dirty (you will get very dirty).
• Good communication skills.

Starting wage is $19 -$22 an hour.
