CMT Division Leader

The CMT Division Leader is a pivotal executive within the engineering team, entrusted with steering the CMT Division through all phases of our project lifecycle. This leadership role requires a unique blend of technical acumen, derived from a civil engineering background, and the practical expertise associated with a PE license.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and direct all operations within the CMT Division, ensuring high standards of material testing and quality assurance are upheld throughout project delivery.
• Lead the strategic planning and execution of CMT programs, including but not limited to, soil, concrete, and asphalt field and laboratory testing procedures.
• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to integrate CMT protocols with overall project goals, ensuring all construction materials and processes meet contractual and regulatory standards.
• Develop and refine departmental procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance, leveraging expertise in civil engineering principles and practices.
• Spearhead the training and development of CMT personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Promote safe work habits and require member adherence to project safety requirements including local office safety compliance and employee training.
• Prepare project proposals and assist with Business Development activities.
• Manage the division's financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and aligning resources with project demands.
• Maintain licensure and certifications as required to ensure that all testing and quality assurance activities adhere to professional engineering standards and ethics.
• Participate in professional and technical organizations
• Cultivate strong relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, serving as the primary technical point of contact for all CMT-related inquiries and initiatives.
• Ensure the accurate documentation and reporting of all CMT activities, implementing robust tracking and archival systems.
• Stay abreast of technological advancements and industry trends in construction materials testing and quality assurance, integrating innovative practices into divisional operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and construction materials testing industry, with previous 2 years in a leadership role preferred, not required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus; eligibility for PE a requirement.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction materials, and testing standards.
• Demonstrated success in managing CMT projects in a dynamic construction environment.
• Exceptional organizational and strategic planning abilities, capable of prioritizing complex projects and initiatives.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with an emphasis on building lasting professional relationships.
