Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Quality Assistant Manager for a long-term role with a plastics manufacturer located in Tigard, OR. The Quality Assistant Manager manages the Quality Assurance Department functions of inspection and quality planning and systems development.
Pay: $28-$31/hr
Quality Assistant Manager Responsibilities:
Function as a strong leader in the development, administration, and maintenance of the Quality system policy and procedures with the goal of ISO conformance/compliance.
Assist with supervising the quality assurance functions and assure they are executed and support the Company quality and on-time delivery requirements.
Collect, maintain and report quality performance data to management.
Initiate investigations and corrective action when required as a result of internal, supplier or customer quality performance issues.
Function as the management representative for customer quality interface activity.
Support Senior Quality Manager, company safety, quality, delivery, cost and other business performance objectives.
Staff, train, and develop Quality Assurance personnel in the execution of their duties and responsibilities.
Monitor daily production activity and collaborate with other departmental representatives to assure product quality exceeds customer expectations.
Implement “In Process” inspection program incorporating all production departments – machining, fabrication, and cleanroom.
Monitor and document testing procedures.
Assist engineering on Product Work Instruction process.
Document all incoming and outgoing products with photos and dimensional data.
Quality Assistant Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, quality management or equivalent working experience.
Minimum of three years as a quality assurance or quality control
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, and/or AS9100., based quality systems and their management.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with specialized knowledge of machined and fabricated products and assemblies.
Strong working knowledge of manufacturing systems, disciplines and techniques necessary to achieve operational excellence including MRP, material and production control, manufacturing engineering, and manufacturing personnel management are highly desirable.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills including written and oral communication.
Basic computer skills including use of spreadsheets, word processors and e-mail and database management.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Certification in quality management (CQM, CQE, etc.) preferred
Experience in assisting and managing a team of quality assurance professionals
