A maintenance technician I has the chief responsibility is to elevate and preserve the condition and functionality of our school premises. Duties include setting up and taking down events, general campus maintenance, and includes working outside in varying conditions. To excel in this position, one must be energetic and willing to take on tasks and adapt as new situations emerge.

Responsibilities:

• Performing general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Set up and removal of tables, chairs, and other materials for school events.
• With proper training, being able to perform basic lighting, electrical, HVAC and other repairs.
• Using a computer or tablet to enter time and payroll information.
• Using computerized maintenance management software to update work orders.
• Direct involvement with the environmental, health and safety team.
• Train new technicians to safely perform assigned work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
• Two years’ experience in a similar role preferred.
• Basic understanding of general maintenance.
• Physically capable and available to work overtime including weekends, public holidays, and evenings as needed.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be well-organized and have the ability to prioritize while juggling multiple tasks.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Good visual acuity to work on small components and distance for driving.
• Willingness and ability to work in a varying outdoor condition, including temperature and weather extremes.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
• Pass a drug screening at hire and randomly throughout employment.
• Willingness and capability to train others.

This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
