The Marketing Assistant will work out of our Waconia, MN location, supporting marketing, promotional, and event/community efforts for our 3 grocery stores and pharmacy.

Summary

Responsible for marketing and promoting Mackenthun's Fine Foods and delivering the message of the company’s mission and vision to customers and the community. 

Works with the Marketing & Media Director supports and enhances current marketing strategies, explores and develops tools and resources to discover and establish new, innovative marketing techniques. This position will enhance and cultivate Mackenthun's brand with a positive impact on growth, sales, and company image. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support and enhance current marketing strategies. Explore and develop tools and resources to discover and establish new, innovative marketing techniques.
• Promote Mackenthun's brand, products, and services through all available media, including, but not limited to the company website, mobile app, social media accounts, interior and exterior signage, print, digital, and new and emerging communications.
• Setting and implementing social media and communication campaigns to align with business strategy goals and brand consistency. Create, edit, publish, and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news).
• Build relationships with customers, potential customers, industry professionals, and community partners.
• Collaborate and engage with Department Managers and Employees to create social ‘buzz’ regarding new product launches, and to ensure consistency in brand messaging.
• Respond to comments and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Assisting with the planning, preparation, and organization of events for Mackenthun’s town & Charity Events, including post-event follow-up and reporting. 

Other Duties

• Conduct continuous analysis of competitor marketing movements and consumer trends. Stay up-to-date with digital technology trends. Analyze reporting to determine campaign and platform effectiveness.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, or related field or comparable education or field experience.
• At least 1 year experience in retail, grocery, marketing or similar field. 
• Must possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Must be willing to collaborate and work as part of a team.
• Must be able to recognize problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, vendors and the general public.
• Computer skills required: Google Workplaces, Canva, Wordpress, Social Media applications, and Internet experience. 
• Graphic design experience and skills required. 

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, use of hands, reaching with arms and hands. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, tasting and smelling. Regularly talking and hearing. Ability to see color. 

Work Environment

In doors, in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, in teams or individually. Occasional wet or humid conditions, near moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions.
