What you will do
At MACK & VOLVO TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You’ll dive into the thrilling world of big data, wielding advanced analytics tools to unearth deep insights and drive strategic decisions. Every day will bring new challenges, from developing sophisticated machine learning models to optimize operations, to crafting data visualizations that narrate compelling stories to stakeholders or apply Generative A.I focused on selling and servicing trucks. Your expertise will not only predict future trends but also pioneer innovative solutions that keep the company at the forefront of its industry.
Your Future Team
Your future team has 10 data engineers, 2 front end developers, 6 data visualization experts and 3 data scientists as well as an extensive network of BI specialists across the globe serving around 1200 corporate users and 4500 external users delivering 45 thousand report visualizations per month.
The Data Scientist will
  • Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive business solutions.
  • Develop proofs-of-concept (PoCs) with LLMs for solutions applied to enterprise and industrial applications.
  • Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, ad targeting and other business outcomes.
  • Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive optimization and improvement of product development, sales & marketing, and business strategies.
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop A/B testing frameworks for data driven applications and test model quality.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.
Who are you?

  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, and Spark to manipulate and draw insights from large datasets (experience working with Azure Databricks preferred)
  • Knowledge of unsupervised and supervised machine learning techniques (industry experience preferred)
  • An understanding of statistical techniques and concepts
  • Knowledge about Azure Cloud Services (industry experience with Azure Databricks, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Web Apps, and/or Azure Container Services is preferred)
  • Exposure to software development practices, including version control, unit testing, and code reviews.
  • Familiar with MLOps (industry experience with MLOps preferred
  • Exposure to Big Data (Experience applying custom algorithms and advanced analytics on Big Data is preferred)
  • Experience preprocessing unstructured data for predictive models
  • Creative thinking and willingness to find novel solutions with an emphasis on delivering high-quality work
Location
This is an on-site that is located in Greensboro, NC with hybrid flexibility.
