Job Title: Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager
Overview :
As the Assistant Warehouse Operations Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the efficient and effective operations of our warehouse facility. Working closely with the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will oversee various aspects of warehouse operations, including inventory management, receiving, shipping, and personnel supervision. Your primary goal will be to ensure that all warehouse activities are conducted safely, accurately, and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Warehouse Operations Manager in overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including scheduling, loading, and unloading of trucks.
- Supervise warehouse staff, including training, coaching, and providing performance feedback.
- Collaborate with the Warehouse Operations Manager to develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety awareness among warehouse staff.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure accuracy and quality of inventory.
- Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to inventory, shipments, or warehouse operations.
- Assist in managing and optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new warehouse staff.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes teamwork and employee engagement.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (NetSuite) and other relevant software applications.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Forklift certification (preferred).
