Mac's List is Hiring a Supervisor Near Portland, OR

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions.

We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

The Clean Start Supervisor is responsible for supervising and monitoring all aspects of the Clean Start programs while on their shift.

The position is also responsible for assisting the Clean Start Managers and Director in overall operations and success of the Clean Start program.

This position is responsible for monitoring territory outlined in all contracts and delegating work assignments to ensure work is completed in an effective and efficient manner.

The Supervisor follows up on quality control with the Clean Start Managers and Director to ensure all Clean Start trainees and regular employees are managed to succeed and excel in their positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Create and maintain work guidelines and training for trainees and regular union employees.
  • Maintain and improve cleaning productivity for all Clean Start and Clean and Safe programs.
  • Coach trainees and employees on job skills.
  • Demonstrate and teach positive work behaviors to trainees and union staff.
  • Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned to the best of their ability.
  • Work with Clean Start Manager and Director to develop and conduct department trainings.
  • Develop and maintain a good working relationship with crew, customers, Central City Concern colleagues, clients (PBA, PMMI, COP, City of Gresham and PPR) and vendors.
  • Conduct quality assurance inspections.
  • Coaches trainees and regular employees on job skills.
  • Clearly report any incidents to managers and director.
  • Supervise regular employees and trainees.
  • Assist in investigating reports and incidents. Report findings to Managers and Director.
  • Assist in hiring and recruitment as needed.
  • Perform daily data entry of statistics for reporting purposes.
  • Develop and maintain the track-it system, which could include prioritizing, scheduling and communication.
  • Maintain and document all reporting outcomes of each track-it back to the COP one point of contact. Reporting also includes pictures of each site.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory and make supply orders to ensure supplies are always in stock.
  • Perform janitorial and maintenance duties as needed.
  • Assist managers and director with special projects.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy and security regulations applicable to the program, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentially, privacy and security.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES :

  • Ability to consider the impacts and outcomes for underserved communities during decision-making process.
  • Ability to consider impacts of oppression, structural racism, and individual bias on client outcomes.
  • Ability to interact successfully and courteously with a variety of people including employees, vendors, and general public.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of issues relating to homelessness, mental health, addiction and health issues faced by the population CCC serves.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Portland metropolitan area community and business leaders
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly and effectively communicate status to managers and director.
  • Ability to relay information in a calm and non-dramatic manner.
  • Ability to provide leadership and to manage day-to-day operations in absence of managers and / or director.
  • Ability to understand and apply workplace and job site safety.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety policies and procedures (SDS, OSHA).
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Ability to learn and apply training and instruction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • High school diploma or GED and 1 year of Clean Start experience or Central City Concern Lead / Supervisory experience; OR 1 year of external Lead / Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of the Community Volunteer Corp. Program.
  • Experience in customer service related work, customer service management experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to write and understand check lists.
  • Must have experience in bio-hazard cleanup.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Ace of 1988.

An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.

  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull, and lift heavy objects.
  • This position requires that you drive Central City Concern vehicles in the course of employment. Must possess a current driver’s license, pass a DMV background check and be designated an acceptable driver as outlined in Central City Concern’s Fleet Safety Policy.

Must pass an initial drivers training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training.

  • Will be required to carry a cell phone for work use. Cell phone will be provided by Central City Concern.
  • Must be able to work in all environmental conditions including inclement weather, dust, dirt, fumes, and smoke.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check. Certain convictions may disqualify you for this position according to the program restrictions and contractual obligations.
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations, treating each individual with respect and dignity.
