Maark is a strategic marketing and innovation agency for global companies. We help our clients define and articulate their vision, design new connected customer experiences, and develop applications at the intersection of where what’s possible meets what’s relevant.

Our designers work with relative autonomy on their respective accounts but support each other through collaborative feedback and guidance. We don’t believe in egos and instead look for designers who want to learn from their colleagues and share their skills so we all can make the best work of our careers.

We’re headquartered in Boston, MA, but have a hybrid work model—two days a week in the office and three days from home. We’ve operated this way for the last five years and believe it gives us valuable face-time with each other and more time with our families and friends.

The Role

As a Lead Animator at Maark, you’ll focus on animating video, brand graphics, and digital experiences for clients across multiple industries.

What you’ll do

• Animate and render high quality videos for a variety of industries and use cases
• Collaborate with team members to develop visual concepts
• Produce creative for the entire video process through storyboarding, asset creation, designing style frames, and developing animatics
• Work with voice over artists to record audio with the right tone and pacing
• Influence the development of other animators, giving direction and feedback
• Present your work to internal and external stakeholders, explaining why your work will be successful

What we’re looking for

• A deep understanding of animation and motion graphics
• Experience animating in both 2D and 3D for 7 years
• A motion reel that shows your mastery of animation fundamentals
• A solid understanding of the entire video/animation process
• Ability to work in a broad range of styles and industries
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively on an animation project throughout the entire process
• An advanced knowledge of After Effects
• An advanced knowledge of a 3D application like Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar
• An intermediate knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop

Nice to have

• Experience with character animation
• Experience with Houdini
• Experience with animation in the browser, including WebGL or three.js experience
• Experience with animating for UI/UX
• Experience with visual coding languages like Processing
• B2B experience
