M&D also stocks a complete assortment of turbos (new and remanufactured), inframe overhaul kits, filtration and aftertreatment parts including DPFs, DOCs, EGRs, sensors and other engine parts.

Position Summary

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for leading and directing distribution center personnel within a fast-paced environment. This is a key role within the larger supply chain strategy, requiring focus on safety, cost, operational excellence, and performance management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage personnel including talent selection, talent development, coaching, and performance management.
• Lead overall operations planning for the DC.
• Develop your team to solve day-to-day issues to achieve short- and long-term performance goals while fostering an inclusive environment that works with a sense of urgency. 
• Conduct meaningful team huddles, team meetings, and 1:1’s on a consistent basis.
• Develop and implement key performance indicators related to inventory management, inventory accuracy, shipping, receiving, put away and order process management.
• Research, monitor, and implement all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies; maintain clean and safe working conditions of the facility and equipment.
• Ensuring work is completed in a safe way, while championing all safety policies.
• Create and maintain effective communication with 3PLs and transportations companies. 
• Create continuous improvement opportunities that drive year over year improvement, as well as streamline and optimize day-to-day operations.
• Partners with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to identify and lead DC network projects that contribute to total logistics cost and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborates with other operational and support leaders to drive standardization of processes. 
• Supports operational strategy and innovation to drive business goals for revenue, operational performance (e.g., safety, quality, service, cost), and profitability.
• Ensures communication and teamwork among staff to aid in the accomplishment of the distribution center objectives.
• Ensures that all company and HR policies and practices are communicated to department associates and practiced consistently.
• Works closely with the EHS/LP Manager to maintain inventory/security controls to prevent shrinkage and shortages.
• Manages multiple priorities in a face-paced environment with effective communication and thorough follow through.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Knowledge of diesel engine components a plus. 
• High school diploma; bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred. 
• 5 years’ experience leading a distribution center. 
• Strong leadership and communications skills 
• Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA standards.
• A valid driver’s license, with a driving record that meets eligibility to operate company assets like vehicles and forklifts. 
• Experience with process improvement and the use of Lean practices.
• Highest attention to detail and willingness to provide support at all levels to get the job done.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
