M-Care Healthcare is a minority serving healthcare center in Wichita, KS. We primarily serve the LGBT community and allies with sexuality inclusive and gender affirming primary care and hormone replacement therapies. We are looking for a nurse or medical assistant who is passionate about community health, seeks to serve our population with compassion and kindness, and is eager to make a positive difference in the lives of our patients. The right candidate will align with our vision of where M-Care Healthcare is heading and is interested in helping the business continue to grow and serve the LGBT community.

Responsibilities:

• Venipuncture - must have experience
• Obtain lab specimens
• Room patients
• Place and return patient calls
• Give injections and teach patients how to safely self administer injections
• Thorough and timely documentation of care provided
• Provide a sex positive environment
• Understand and provide patient education of safer sexuality including STI testing and treatment, contraception, and HIV PrEP
• Assist with medication refills, authorizations, and pharmacy communications
• Place and track referrals to other agencies as needed
• Support our mission to provide sexuality inclusive and gender affirming primary and specialty care to LGBT populations and allies
• Active listening and engagement with patients to provide a caring environment
• Engage with staff members and other healthcare professionals to provide high quality patient care
• Be organized, motivated, proficient in medical documentation, and skilled in working independently and as a member of a patient centered team
• Function as a flexible and involved member of the M-Care team

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
