Position Description:

The Project Engineer 1 provides technical & administrative information to others working on a project to ensure that the work complies with all basic engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instruction; trouble-shoots engineering related installation problems. This individual will work closely supervised and solve problems of limited scope and complexity.

Location:

·This position is based at M.C. Dean’s Modular Mission Critical (MMC) facility in Ruther Glen, Virginia. This position does not support hybrid/remote work. Expected travel of 0 - 5%.

Position Responsible:

• Perform material takeoffs from design drawings, standards, specifications, and other documents
• Source and select permanent-plant material for purchase
• Order, track, expedite, and generally manage the supply chain from sourcing to receiving.
• Manage the vendor submittal process including: packaging project specifications into a request for submittal, reviewing & accepting/rejecting submittals, generally manage the process from sourcing to acceptance.
• Keeping up daily work tickets.
• Managing project technical documents including Requests for Information & Change Orders.
• Maintaining as-builts as work is completed.
• Documenting project issues/conditions.
• Maintaining organized and detailed project records.
• Submitting hours and cost codes.
• Obtaining permits, badges and access requests in advance
• Manage project library.
• Participates in KPR (Key Project Review).

Education & Experience Required:

• 0 – 2 years of experience with Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (preferably from an ABET accredited program).

• Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
• Sitting for extended periods of time.
• Standing for extended periods of time.
• Extensive walking around the MMC campus.
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
• Have finger dexterity in order to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms, for example, using a keyboard.
