LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES OF THE NAT is Hiring a CMPP Clinician or Clinical Therapist Near Washington, DC

POSITION SUMMARY
Clinical Therapistprovides professional trauma-informed counseling and case management services to individuals, families, or groups receiving services within the Case Management Pilot Program (CMPP) at Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area. The CMPP provides essential behavioral and psychosocial health services for vulnerable migrant adults and families. The ideal candidate will have extensive culturally appropriate counseling experience working with asylum-seekers, refugees, immigrants, victims of human trafficking, and/or victims of domestic violence. The candidate must have a commitment to the mission of LSSNCA, as well as the diverse refugee and immigrant populations which we have served for over 100 years in the National Capital Area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct intakes, psychosocial assessments, and trauma inventory; determine acuity, strengths, and therapy needs.
  • Coordinate and provide care that is safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and client centered.
  • Develop family-centered and culturally appropriate and responsive treatment plans and provide outpatient services including individual counseling, family counseling, group counseling, and training using evidence-based and trauma-informed practices.
  • Work cooperatively with members of a larger treatment or service coordination team, either internally within the agency or externally in the larger community.
  • Provide short term crisis intervention to address immediate mental health emergencies, stabilize the individual in crisis, and create and implement a safe, appropriate plan.
  • Provide basic case management services to assist clients achieve wellness and autonomy as needed.
  • Leads clinical documentation, i.e., case notes, patient assessments, service/treatment plans, and other forms/records as required in a timely manner. Maintain detailed case files and other documentation in 100% compliance with the RIS program standards.
  • Develop, facilitate, and effectively present program curricula for classes or groups on human trafficking, substance abuse/mental health, and other topics.
  • Participate in actively soliciting feedback from program participants through distributing satisfaction surveys or other approved means.
  • Meet or exceed program productivity expectations on a regular and sustained basis.
  • Participate in meetings and be an active member of the CMPP team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS& EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and/or DC, provisionally licensed considered, or willing to obtain licensure in one or two other states
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of relevant experience working with vulnerable or migrant populations.
  • Skilled in providing individual, family and group therapy.
  • Knowledge and experience in trauma-informed practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including good communication skills, “active” listening skills, and attitude.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Proficient in data collection, electronic medical record database and Microsoft Office products.
  • Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality, compliance with all HIPAA regulations.
  • Must pass required physical, TB test, and drug screening.
  • Must pass required child registry clearances for the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the U.S.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to an automobile, insurance, and willingness to drive to off-site locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Spanish fluency preferred but not required.
