Job Details Job Location Safe Haven Fulton - Bronx, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $50,000.00 - $51,000.00 Salary/year Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Lutheran Safe Haven Shelter and Transitional Foster Care Program is a 24-hour program that serves unaccompanied children (UCs) in immigration custody who are awaiting release to their sponsors. The Quality Improvement Specialist monitors the programs compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations and policies and oversees implementation and ongoing compliance with ORR policy and procedures for working with Unaccompanied Children. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES :
Review UC portal weekly to ensure compliance with ORR policies and for quality of content.
Review and close all charts within 45 days of minors discharge.
Provide individual supervision to Case Aides.
Delegate tasks as needed to ensure that client charts are audit-ready at all times
Review and synthesize all policy changes, train staff on new policies as requested by supervisor.
Ensure compliance with ORRs Cooperative Agreement with LSSNY.
Submit chart audits and portal check reviews to provide feedback on program and staffs strengths and areas of growth.
Ensure compliance with ORR guidelines on the timely submission of sensitive documents i.e., SIRS, DNF.
Other tasks as needed.
SUPERVISES : Case Aides and Administrative Assistant Qualifications EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in behavioral sciences, human services, or social service fields EXPERIENCE : 1 years experience working with child welfare standards, best practices and compliance; experience in conducting investigations of sexual abuse preferred. SKILLS & ABILITIES
Strong investigative/analytical, communication and presentation skills - able to facilitate trainings.
Ability to establish a systematic course of action to accomplish specific objectives, determine priorities, and allocate time and responsibilities effectively.
Experience with regulatory compliance as well as quality assurance.
Able to work collaboratively with people from all walks of life especially immigrant youths.
Bilingual English/Spanish.
Facility with Microsoft Office Applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
