Lutheran Social Services of Illinois is Hiring a Family Support Specialist Near Rockford, IL

LSSI is hiring a full-time Family Support Specialist Monday through Friday. The Family Support Specialist will provide short-term services to families referred by DCFS for services that do not meet the requirements for DCFS involvement at the time of call.

Essential Functions:

  • Staffing with Supervisor throughout LSSI Involvement.
  • Complete required assessments, documentation, and recommendations.
  • Provide and link to local resources to families.
  • Perform all tasks as required to engage families and collateral contacts.
  • Participate in the supervisory process for guidance, direction, assessment, and decision-making.
  • Performs other related tasks as needed.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • CWEL preferred but not required.
  • Excellent communication, organization, presentation and pc/computer skills (including proficiency with Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Proof of automobile liability insurance required.
  • Proof of Illinois driver’s license. Access to transportation for visits to homes.
