Maintenance Technician

Full Time| Day Shift (Flexible Hours!)

Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician in Columbus, Ohio at Village Place and Stratford Place. LSS Affordable Housing offers reliable and affordable apartments to more than 1,000 seniors throughout Ohio at 21 sites.

What will I do as a Maintenance Technician with Lutheran Social Services?

  • Performs routine and/or basic mechanical maintenance throughout the assigned facility including completing plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and HVAC systems according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on facility equipment, maintains maintenance rooms, janitorial rooms, and related storage areas in a clean and organized manner to standards
  • Performs routine custodial duties including cleaning, dusting, and high speed buffing and waxing of floors
  • Performs grounds upkeep as needed, including landscaping, flower planting and watering, and extensive snow removal at Faith Mission and other LSS sites, during season
  • Performs general carpentry and finish work including painting (interior and exterior), patching and spackling drywall, and installing/removing flooring, etc
  • Performs basic plumbing work
  • Performs electrical repair on facility equipment
  • Performs general appliance repair on facility appliances and small equipment
  • Flexibility to work at other LSS and FM properties/facilities as needed

Requirements for a Maintenance Technician with Lutheran Social Services:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Some college or vocational training, preferred
  • 2-4 years of previous maintenance experience required
  • Experience dealing with homeless, low income, and diverse clients, preferred
  • Knowledge of grounds and facility maintenance
  • Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing and electrical
  • Customer services skills.
