Position Summary

The Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for managing the overall operations of the facility during assigned shift when the Shift Supervisor is not in the facility. The Assistant Shift Supervisor will assign specific duties to maintain Shelter safety and security standards.

Some of the duties include:

• Assign staff specific duties to support shelter residents and operations
• Monitor staff schedules to ensure shift has appropriate staffing levels at all times
• Maintain accurate census within the shelter, complete daily shift reports
• Mediate disputes between clients and/or staff, document according to agency policy

• After hours point of contact for Help Desk support
• Respond quickly and practically to emergencies, crises, or unexpected problems
• Coordinate with shelter overflow sites, as needed
• Assess and meet the basic needs of various residents, daily
• Assists with transportation coordination and vehicle cleaning

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or equivalent; a minimum of five years working with diverse populations; and knowledge or experience in the Social Service field, required. The candidate must possess good verbal/written communication skills and basic computer software knowledge including Word and Excel. Experience in addiction treatment, a plus.
