About The Role

The Restorative Nurse will perform restorative nursing procedures that maximize the resident’s ADL functions and promotes independence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Participates in committees as designated.
• Works closely with Physical and Occupational therapists, and Rehab Coordinator to assist with therapy programs.
• Recording programs in charts.
• Informing staff of programs.
• Reviewing programs on a regular basis.
• Assists in the supervision of rehab aides as instructed by Rehab Coordinator.
• Assists in Restraint Reduction Program.
• Participates in teaching restorative principles and procedures to nurses and nursing assistants both in the classroom and on the unit.
• Supervises staff on unit re: proper transfer/mobility techniques and body mechanics. Educates staff on equipment.
• Supplies back support/safety belts.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with a current license from the State of Illinois.
