The position allocates approximately 65% of time to direct service, 30% to documentation, and 5% to other duties. Classrooms are managed by two individuals;
they are responsible for all aspects of the classroom.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
washing all used blankets and towels; sanitizing objects put in the children’s mouth, vacuum carpets)
attendance records, Client Contact Logs, Child Status Summaries, weekly child observations, home visit records, family and child assessments, risk assessment, child developmental screenings, child and family goals, etc )
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS :
JOB COMPLEXITY : This is a dynamic position that demands the ability to be self-directed and respond to the changing and individual needs of at risk families of children with significant mental health needs.
INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS : This position demands interactions with a variety of public and private community organizations, agencies, and communities.
Positive, clear, and accurate communication skills are of utmost importance. This position requires the ability to deal effectively with families, clients, staff members, and the general public.
This will always require courtesy and confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or another related field is preferred.
Two years of experience in an early childhood program working with children and families, including home visitation duties is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, write, and understand directions. Must have the ability to write memos and other correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, clients, and the general public. Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : A current clearance from the Central Background Registry. Current First Aid Certification, CPR card, Food Handler’s Card, Annual Mandatory Reporter / Child Abuse, and Neglect training.
Must have a current driver’s license, car insurance, and access to a vehicle.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is normally engaged in low-activity tasks such as sitting, standing, walking, writing / typing.
The employee is required to sit and stand at length. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
The employee will be having meetings with families, which can take place during the day, evenings, and on weekends to provide essential support during family times.
Services are offered to families in their homes and within the community. Travel within the community requires a valid Oregon State driver’s license, car insurance, and access to a vehicle.
