Lutco is Hiring a Quality Technician Near Worcester, MA

The Quality Technician conducts testing on product as an audit of our processes, prepares product certification reports, analyses and interprets results, compiles information and reports quality information for management meetings. The Technician will identify quality trends and issues which required management attention and submit analysis/reports to management for action. Auditors will conduct both the process audit (control plan) and product audits.

Technician will assist in the coordination and conducting of capability studies in production, gathering the study information and compiling a final report with comments. Reports are submitted to Quality Engineer for review and determination of additional actions.

An employee is considered fully qualified to perform the Auditor duties upon completion of all tasks identified in skill levels 1-3.

1. Promotes continuous improvement by taking the initiative to identify issues and provide solutions with the goal of reducing cost and improving performance.

2. Inspect, test and record specification and quality requirements as required, through use of forms and/or work order completion.

3. Document customer, internal and supplier discrepancies in the CAR database.

4. Use QA PC software for applicable duties.

5. Work from engineering documents and technical specification which determine acceptance and rejection.

6. Process all sample submissions; i.e., PPAP, in a timely manner.

7. Perform Lab Testing and operate test equipment to standards and per documented instructions as required.

8. Compiles and analyze test data into report form, and propose recommendations based upon results.

9. MS/NAS inspection/certification testing.

10. Perform gage calibration. Ensure integrity of gage calibration database.

11. Initiates supply requisitions and ensures all lab supply levels are adequate to support the lab activities.

12. Create packages and sign all certificates of conformance/compliance.

13. Customer contact for technical information or complaints. Must be accurate and responsive to all customer inquiries.

14. Must be knowledgeable in customer quality requirements/specifications.

15. Verify the Corrective Action responses as assigned by QA Engineer or Manager.

16. When assigned, responsible for conducting testing and containment of product relating to corrective action requests. Containment must be accurate and complete.

17. Execute Gage R&R studies.

18. Conduct Preventative Maintenance activities per documented instructions for laboratory equipment. Ensures all equipment and laboratory work areas are clean, organized and maintained in good operating condition.

19. Enter information into IMDS and/or AIAG Compliance Connect spreadsheet (or other customer prescribed format to comply with Automotive ELV (End-of-life vehicle) reporting requirements.

20. Coordinates capability studies and compiles results of such studies for submission to Quality Engineer.

21. Any other job related duties as required by the Quality Assurance Engineer or Manager.

AUTHORITY:

1. Able to shut down any process which is producing non-conforming product.

2. Authorizes return of samples, as needed, to verify customer complaints.

3. Holds stock from shipping which has not passed or completed testing.

4. Coordinate work based on daily requirements, through the Quality Department

5. Issuance of RGAs, CARs. Initiate re-work/replacement orders, as required.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
1. Inspections conducted and documented per laboratory instructions within specified timeframes.

2. On-time and thorough follow-up on verification of corrective action as assigned via the CAR database.

3. Accurate and timely compilation of PPAP submission packages, and MS/NAS Inspections.

4. Maintain laboratory equipment in optimum working condition.

5. Implementation of QA policies and directives from the Quality Assurance Manager.

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Two (2) years quality or quality related experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment.

2. Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form on a daily basis with any and all related personnel, departments and customers accurately.

3. Familiarity with basic testing, measuring equipment, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and problem solving techniques; (i.e., 8D).

4. ASQ-CMI Certification is preferred.

5. Working knowledge of excel software.
