As Quality Technician, you are responsible for taking initiatives to increase production stats while reducing total cost outlay and assist the Quality management team in everyday functions and to interact with any department requiring Quality assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Must understand the importance of Food Safety - Legality, Quality and Authenticity of the product, and notify any suspected issues to the attention of management immediately.
• Ongoing monitoring of production lines throughout the shift focusing and enforcement of Good Manufacturing Practices/Procedures (GMPs) and how they are being maintained on the floor by fellow team members
• Frequent spot-checks on documentation and record keeping in all areas of production throughout the shift, weights, and temperatures
• Assisting the Quality management team in ensuring that all Company processes and procedures are adhered to
• Frequent inspection of processed products including metal detector rejects and completion of forms when necessary
• Frequent maintenance of temperature recording charts
• Frequent calibration checks of thermometers and scales to ensure proper functionality
• Assisting in compiling and maintaining raw material and ingredient specifications through QA inspection
• Assisting in the monitoring or conduction of Hold, Release and Disposition procedures of products as necessary
• Ability to use an excel spread sheet is a plus but not necessary
• It will be the responsibility of the QA Technician to keep relevant supervisors and managers updated on QA incidents as they occur
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND PREFERRED SKILLS

• GED or Highschool diploma preferred, but not required
• Experience in the food manufacturing production industry in lieu of education is considerable
• Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs such as excel, word, PowerPoint required
• Basic math and computation skills required
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication methods
• Ability to trouble shoot and problem solve
• Self-motivated and organized
